Not my normal book but a must, I think!!!!

I usually stick to the romance and fiction genre but this one I must share.  The church that I go to is a new church and just starting out. They recently formed a ladies life program. Part of the curriculum for that program is to read the novel, The Story.  It condenses all the books in the Bible into one cohesive continuing story with selections from the new international version.  We will be covering each chapter weekly and discussing in depth. It breaks it down to be understood and covered in 31 weeks.  I find it kind of nice.  Not many people can understand the bible or have problems wrapping their head around it.  I can honestly say it is one book that I just can’t sit down and read cover to cover.  I think that with it in this format I will be able to. Unfortunately to circumstances outside my control I’ve had to miss the first two meetings and am hoping to get caught up.  I don’t want ya’ll to think that I am in anyway trying to convert you; that’s not my intention.  It is a book and one I am currently in the process of reading, and really kinda the whole point to this blog.  So please don’t get the wrong idea.  Till my next post readers,

Ruth

Trying to keep a positive attitude!!!

First off I want to say thank you for your time and patience. I have had numerous things to do and finalize. I am just keeping you up to date at this point but I do promise there will be more book reviews and just general book information for all of my reader friends. I have been waffling back and forth with getting this business up and running. Trying to figure out the best method and basically going thru a trial and error period of experimentation.  Things weren’t progressing as fast as I would’ve liked. I was also having logistical problems with the wordpress.com sites and thought I needed to move to a new blogging service. Moving to that new service allowed me to get my Google Adsense application approved, but I still felt that I had failed in being unable to fix the problems.  I attended a webinar that helped to resolve some of the issues I was having with these blogs on this service. I believe I can know implement them and get you the links and information that ya’ll need to enjoy this site better and to get the products that I am telling you about.  I have to say that attending said webinar re lit that fire I felt dwindling and I truly believe the Lord smacked me upside the head.  I just heard a voice saying “Okay here are the answers you needed and wanted, run with them!”  I know I have to have things fixed and in working order and being unable to figure it out and make it work according to my time table was so very frustrating and aggravating.  So once again thank you all and I promise there will be more to come. Till my next post,

Ruth

P.S. Have to share my fairy addiction so here:

About Me

If ya don’t know me; Hi my names Ruth and I’m a book addict, and proud of it.  More often than not you can find me with a book in my hand.  I really, really like to read.  I read many genres, but several of my family members call it smut because of my obsession with paranormal romances.  So a friend and I coined the phrase “Head Smutetts of the Smutketeer’s from Smutsville”!  By the way if anyone has a copyright attached to that phrase we mean no infringement at all.  To let you know how much of an addict I am I have a 35 page booklist, front and back, that is constantly growing and updated with books I want.  I constantly search the author’s official sites, and the retailer sites for new releases, and their complete booklists, as well as updates.  I also like to collect books as well.  I have my own rating system and before I get into that; I would like to state now that I have never, and will never, advocate or suggest that someone go out and buy cigarettes or alcohol to read a book.  Please do not get offended it’s just how I rate them.  The system has four categories and they are: coffee reads, chocolate reads, cigarette reads, and last but not least the wine or poison of your choice reads.  Now I also combine those categories as well. An example of that would be a combination of wine, cigarette, and chocolate read; those tend to be the best by the way.  I believe books have flavors and they should be enjoyed and we tend to enjoy those things that are not good for us; so that’s how the system came to be.  I believe that music also goes hand in hand with books. It just makes them better.  So that’s me in a nutshell when it comes to books. If you would like a more in-depth bio you can find it at http://ruthhammers.wordpress.com.
